Overview

Our client, an international operating company, is current seeking a Production Day Superintendent (LNG Train) to work residentially in Milan, Italy, to support pre-operations preparation for a major LNG project.

The Production Train 1 Day Superintendent will lead and manage LNG Train production activities within the LNG Plant, ensuring compliance with the applicable Company management system, regulations and standards, facilitating proper maintenance of Train and equipment, developing and assessing the production team personnel, in order to contribute to the optimization of Production processes and produce on specification LNG in a safe and timely manner to meet company targets and shipping schedules.

Responsibilities
During Engineering phase:
  • Review engineering documents and make sure they are coherent and in line with Company expectations.
  • Develop and write production procedures.
  • Participate in the definition of start-up sequence, taking into account the reduction of flare emissions.
  • Participate in all Hazop and engineering reviews, DCS FATs, reduction of alarms…
  • Develop and implement production processes (PTW, inhibitions, downgraded situations, safety tours, logs, Simops…).
  • Develop the list of production tools.
  • Implement digital solutions (digital twin, PI…).
  • Recruit and train production staff, especially local personnel.
During Operation phase:
  • Ensure safety of personnel, environment protection, and the technical integrity of equipment’s in his domain of activities, implement HSE rules and follow procedures.
  • Ensure good housekeeping of CCR, offices, kitchen, storages and site, maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensure equipment’s are appropriately stored.
  • Participate in the near misses analyses, HAZOPs, technical reviews, risk assessment, safety audits, RCA, incidents and accidents analyses.
  • Formally record all downgraded situations.
  • Perform the role defined by the Company Work Permit System, and SIMOPS management plans.
  • Perform the role defined by the Company Emergency Response Plan.
  • Provide timely Production Methods support to the Production Shift teams to ensure safe and efficient operations by:
  • Work closely with Shift teams to guide and assist in troubleshooting of process upsets/incidents, perform the necessary technical analyses and provide corrective actions and solutions, identify lessons learned
  • Provide day-to-day instructions and Production Control support
  • Guide and participate in plant optimization activities
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of Modification Proposals in conjunction with Technical Support (Process) and following up on progress until closure
  • Provide guidance and explaining operational modifications to Shift Teams
  • Develop, review and update Operating Procedures and Guidelines
  • Develop and manage Isolation and Spading plans, LO/LC registers, planning operator rounds/checks…
  • Provide guidance and advice based on past experience gained from other LNG plants – knowledge sharing
  • Coordinate and prioritize planned work to be performed on the LNG Train with Maintenance & Inspection department staff to meet plant production targets and shipping programs (this includes weekly maintenance planning through to major Shutdown planning).
  • Ensure proper shutdown planning and coordination and effective handling of emergency situations, provide the required support, so that all such activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Organize permit meetings ensuring participation of concerned parties and control opening of PTWs for critical jobs.
  • Carry out regular safety and plant integrity audits on the plant (PTW system, Firefighting equipment, equipment general conditions…).
  • Provide assistance in the form of work request notifications and material requisitions (team function), in order to support plant operations
  • Provide coverage for the Shift Production Superintendent during any planned or unplanned absence and assist the Shift Superintendent during plant upsets and/or emergencies.
  • Keep records of Train activities.
  • Check logs of Shift teams (Superintendent, Supervisors and Panel Operator) and ensure the accuracy.
  • Prepare separate written reports on plant trips, abnormal operations and accidents/dangerous occurrences in order to report all plant activities and to facilitate provision of important information to the concerned parties.
  • Manage development of employees and especially Nationals to obtain maximum performance for the company.
  • Identify and plan Production staff training needs and coordinate the implementation of training and development plans in coordination with Shift Production Superintendent and Supervisors.
  • Discuss with and set up objectives on an annual basis for subordinates and review on a regular basis.
  • Perform end of year appraisals.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor of higher education in Applied Science or Chemical Engineering or equivalent with international standard and solid experience
  • Minimum 20 years specific production experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum 10 years in Senior Production Positions
  • Minimum 10 years in LNG production plants, not LNG terminals.
  • Excellent knowledge of oil & gas / LNG production processes and methods.
  • Excellent knowledge of natural gas treatment, LNG production activities and Storage & Loading operations.
  • Excellent ability to troubleshoot process problems and upsets.
  • Excellent knowledge of HSE and Environment Management systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of PTW system in Oil & Gas Industry.
  • High knowledge of Emergency Response systems and experience in handling plant emergencies.
  • Good knowledge of computer windows office applications.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent leadership
