Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build first‑level router aggregates and console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and inter‑connectivity issues, including network device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
  • Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

Any physical requirements are expectations with reasonable accommodations. Up to 60% travel within geographical work area is required; some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally.

A Day in the Life

Our team has three primary tasks:

  1. Providing first‑level networking devices to serve customer racks, tracking rack intake and delivery, and partnering with network engineers to ensure all configurations are ready. You will also be working on link and device troubleshooting within a certain service‑level agreement.
  2. Building console and room builds to provide more space and capacity for customer racks.
  3. Working with ID‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
About the Team

Our Philadelphia Region is expanding into an ML Cluster, and we are very excited to expand our team with dedicated Infrastructure Deployment Technicians to help our scaling our network and server capacity. This team covers the whole Pennsylvania region with all the sites inside and outside the perimeter. There is travel involved as we move where the capacity is needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent, or experience with networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related) at an advanced level.
  • 2+ years of data center experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server and experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Cygwin/Windows.
  • Experience with storage devices.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
