A leading engineering firm in Venice, Italy is seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to manage all mechanical quantity surveying activities. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates for mechanical works, managing project budgets, and supporting contract administration for a bio-refinery project. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and proven experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects. Proficiency in English and Italian is mandatory.

For our own projects, we are looking for a MECHANICAL QUANTITY SURVEYOR

MISSION

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing all mechanical quantity surveying activities, ensuring accurate cost estimation, budget control, and contract management throughout the execution of a bio-refinery project.

TASKS
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical works, including piping, static and rotating equipment, HVAC, and relevant materials and labor.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide cost control to prevent overruns.
  • Conduct mechanical quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities for piping, steel supports, equipment installations, and related scopes.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor progress claims, variations, and payment applications for mechanical works.
  • Support contract administration, including preparation, review, and negotiation of mechanical contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align mechanical cost control with project progress.
  • Analyze project risks related to mechanical cost factors and propose mitigation measures.
  • Prepare periodic mechanical cost reports and forecasts to support management decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, mechanical standards, and client requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, or Bio-Refinery projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods, piping systems, equipment installation, cost estimation, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian is mandatory
