We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team.

Working in close connection with the R&D scientists, the successful candidate will actively work on integrating the main process equipment into the plant layout. Dedicated time will be spent to define the main process equipment mechanical features. The Mechanical Engineer will also be responsible for interacting with potential suppliers, aligning technical offers, and following up on selected placed orders until their dispatch at the site. The role includes supporting and directly acting on the Plant 3D Model to define layouts and piping routings. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to follow up on the whole pilot plant mechanical development and the subsequent scalability by analyzing its performances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze plant mechanical feasibility through conceptual 3D models, verifying they will achieve the required performance, safety, and project standards.
  • Select static equipment, rotating equipment, and associated auxiliary equipment requirements, as well as operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in defining constructability schemes and sequences.
  • Develop project specifications, bid packages, and work execution packages.
  • Perform vendor offer alignment, technical bid evaluations, and subcontractor work descriptions alignment.
  • Define mechanical and piping design basis.
  • Support the development of new company standards and calculation models.
  • Integrate mechanical systems developed and manage the Pilot Plant 3D model.
  • Perform piping stress analysis.
  • Provide support for permit applications by gathering data and submitting documentation to public offices.
  • Follow up on technical aspects post-order by interacting with vendors.
  • Assist in commissioning and startup activities.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as research institutions.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of working experience.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Experience with material order technical follow-up and vendor relationships.
  • Experience with CAD mechanical software (Solid Edge is a plus).
  • Experience with AutoCAD LT and Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Fluent in professional English.
  • Enthusiastic about broadening technological expertise.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and carbon capture technology is a plus.
