Maintenance Senior Engineering Specialist – ICSS

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Senior Engineering Specialist – ICSS (Integrated Control & Safety Systems) to join a major LNG project. This role will manage ICSS engineering maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. The position includes leadership responsibility for a small specialist team and close collaboration with instrumentation, maintenance, and reliability functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead ICSS Engineering Specialists, ensuring all maintenance activities meet safety and quality standards.
- Develop, review, and optimize preventive maintenance plans for DCS / PLC systems.
- Supervise scheduling and execution of ICSS work requests.
- Provide technical guidance to solve complex ICSS and instrumentation issues.
- Conduct and participate in RCA, HAZOPs, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ensure spare parts / materials availability and manage related budgets.
- Oversee vendor and contractor performance for ICSS services.
- Validate and implement maintenance procedures and ensure proper documentation.
- Support the implementation of IIOT and cybersecurity measures within ICSS environments.
- Mentor and develop team members, with a focus on knowledge transfer and technical training.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Control Systems, Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Functional Safety certification is an asset.
Experience:
- 20+ years in maintenance within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
- 10+ years specifically in LNG production plants.
- Strong background with DCS / PLC systems, turbines, and package control systems.
- Minimum 5 years of direct ICSS maintenance leadership.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in DCS & PLC, industrial comms (Modbus, Profibus, HART, Ethernet).
- Strong knowledge of IIOT, cybersecurity, field instrumentation, and hazardous area compliance.
- Proficiency in CMMS (e.G., SAP), MS Office, and reporting tools.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
