The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in Milan. This is a unique opportunity for a technically passionate engineer to accelerate professional growth, contributing to national and international projects and driving innovation in the geotechnical sector.

Responsibilities
  • Support Infrastructure and Structural teams across a wide range of national and international projects, providing geotechnical expertise to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Plan, supervise, and report on ground investigations, ensuring accurate data collection and comprehensive reporting.
  • Prepare specifications and design reports, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Design foundations, retaining structures, underground structures, slope stability, and earthworks for diverse complex buildings, large developments, and large infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate design solutions effectively and advise both technical and non-technical audiences, coordinating with other disciplines and client representatives as needed.
  • Support the development of the team, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Contribute to geotechnical research in collaboration with Arup Skills Networks, universities, and research partners.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in geotechnical design and/or construction (4-7 years).
  • Membership with a relevant professional body (Ordine degli Ingegneri).
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (including formal and information presentations, written communications, and reports).
  • High motivation, proactivity and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Knowledge of one or more geotechnical finite element software packages would be an advantage.
  • Interest and ability in digital space 3D modelling, scripting, or GIS would be an advantage.
  • Developing interest in sustainability would be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to travel.
