Franchise Lead – Hematology

Location: GSK Verona, Italy

Employment type: Full‑time, Permanent

Mission

Drive the national success of the Hematology Franchise by ensuring strong commercial performance, launch excellence, market development, and a high‑performance culture. The Franchise Lead owns the P&L, defines the strategic direction, and leads Sales & Marketing teams, ensuring full cross‑functional alignment and consistency with GSK’s global and regional priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance
  • Own the Franchise P&L, driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Translate global and regional strategy into a clear and actionable National Franchise Plan.
  • Lead launch readiness and lifecycle management for Franchise assets, including new indications and new hematology launches.
  • Chair cross‑functional governance (Medical, Market Access, IHSM, Regulatory, Supply), ensuring defined stage gates and clear decision rights.
  • Oversee the development and execution of Integrated Launch/Asset Plans, covering evidence dissemination, access milestones, and supply chain readiness.
Go‑to‑Market & Commercial Excellence
  • Design the go‑to‑market model, optimizing segmentation, targeting, and territory planning to maximize penetration and ROI.
  • Lead the omnichannel commercial strategy, ensuring promotional compliance and delivering an effective and engaging customer experience for hematologists.
  • Develop differentiated value propositions based on clinical insights, real‑world evidence, and unmet needs in hematologic diseases, with a specific focus on myelofibrosis.
  • Partner with Market Access on HTA, pricing, and access strategies, integrating clinical evidence and system value.
People Leadership & Field Readiness
  • Lead and develop Marketing and Sales teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.
  • Ensure field readiness through role‑based training, coaching, objection‑handling tools and sessions, and structured sales enablement programs.
  • Enable partnerships with External Experts, scientific societies, patient associations, and Hematology Accounts acting as the key external representative for GSK.
Business Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct performance reviews using defined KPIs and apply a test–learn–scale approach to optimize post‑launch performance.
  • Ensure coordination across supply, demand planning, distribution, and patient support programs.
  • Identify and implement innovative initiatives to expand access and improve outcomes for patients living with hematologic diseases, particularly myelofibrosis.
Experience & Skills
Professional Experience
  • 10+ years in commercial and/or marketing roles within the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years leading launches and cross‑functional launch governance.
  • Strong experience in Oncology, Hematology, and/or Rare Diseases, ideally within complex therapeutic areas.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing strategic franchises or high‑priority assets.
  • Preference for profiles with Global or Regional launch experience with experience leading Oncology product launches including cross‑functional readiness, stakeholder engagement, commercialization strategy and measurable market access/uptake outcomes.
  • Proven experience in customer insight generation, commercial analytics and performance measurement.
  • Fluent in Italian and English language (spoken and written) is required.
Technical & Leadership Skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Government Affairs, and enabling functions, with the ability to translate evidence into compelling value narratives.
  • Strong people leadership, decisive execution, and excellent executive communication.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, AI tools, CRM systems, and omnichannel platforms.
  • Experience in field force effectiveness, change leadership, and commercial capability‑building.
