A leading banking institution in Milan is looking for a professional with expertise in accounting and reporting. This hybrid role requires a Bachelor's Degree in economics and at least 5 years' experience in a major audit firm or bank. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality reports, participating in month-end processes, and advising on regulatory matters. Proficiency in IAS/IFRS and strong skills in accounting software are essential.
Competenze
- 5+ years of experience in a big four audit firm and/or in a bank focused on accounting/reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting standards including IAS/IFRS.
- Professional accounting certification is a plus.

Conoscenze
Bachelor’s Degree in economics
5+ years of experience in a big four audit firm or bank
Proficiency in accounting (IAS/IFRS)
Experience with accounting software (eg. Oracle Peoplesoft, SAP)
Good knowledge of regulatory matters
Strong computer skills, particularly MS Excel
Basic knowledge of Italian corporate tax

Key Responsibilities
- Delivery to Head Office of high-quality reports within the due deadlines.
- Take an active role in end of month closing process (manual adjustments, reconciliations, analysis).
- Prepare reports for tax authorities, banking and other regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare working papers of a high-quality standard, and provide a complete audit trail of all work undertaken.
- Processes journal entries in various accounts.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
- Contribute to internal controls over financial reporting activities.
- Update / modify accounting procedures and processes in case of regulatory / business change.
- Keeping abreast of new / updated accounting principles and reporting regulations.
- Advise the business on ad-hoc request on accounting and reporting implications of new initiatives.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in economics;
- 5+ years of experience in a big four audit firm and / or in a bank with focus on accounting / reporting;
- Proficiency in accounting : IAS / IFRS;
- Experience with accounting software (eg. Oracle Peoplesoft, SAP );
- Good knowledge of regulatory matters (“Segnalazioni di vigilanza”, Finrep, Corep, Liquidity );
- Ability to influence and solicit cooperation and action from others;
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas and macros);
- Basic Knowledge of Italian corporate tax;
- Knowledge of SOX and / or “262 / 2005” Law;
- Attention to details and accuracy;
- Ability to work in team;
- Proficiency in English;
- Professional accounting certification (a plus).
