Mission
Analyzes the P&L of the business units to optimise results and achieve objectives. Performs control functions within the business unit.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate and analyse feedback received from hotels in the area of responsibility about needs and opportunities.
- Advises the business, providing an overall vision to the different departments, supporting decision-making and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Analyses relevant information (financial or otherwise) from operational departments to maximise results.
- Proactively aims to improve profitability in the business unit, detecting synergies and maximising results.
- Ensures the correct opening or disaffiliation of business units from the perspective of Administration and Dry Storage functions.
- For new hotel openings, implements procedures, manages duties specified in the contract and controls the pre‑opening budget.
Budget and Accounts Close
- Prepares cost and revenue budgets following the guidelines received.
- Ensures compliance with the budget, detects causes of deviations, defines corrective measures and monitors them.
- Implements the local close of accounts and reviews the correct implementation of the centralised monthly closure process, ensuring that results reflect reality.
- Implements the forecasting and reforecasting process with the executive committee, analysing actual data evolution and future trends, developing scenarios.
- Analyses reasons for deviations and supports implementation of corrective actions in the business unit.
Control
- Applies Hotel Management and Accounting rules, processes and procedures.
- Safeguards supplier contracts, insurance policies and legal documents for the business unit.
- Assists with internal audits, defining action plans to resolve incidents reported.
- Assists in external audit processes.
- Supervises and ensures proper internal control.
- Receives a monthly copy of cash control reports for the hotel and reports on any relevant incident.
- Supervises and ensures optimisation of cost items that affect results of each hotel.
- Supervises warehouse management in the business unit.
- Directly supervises the team carrying out tasks that require a local presence, ensuring correct delivery of administration and dry storage services.
Investments
- Analyses investment requests from business units, preparing Business Cases to determine viability.
- Supervises progress of works with regard to their cost compared to budget.
- Monitors projects and investments made within business units to ensure commitments are met.
Corporate and Financial
- Is responsible for an entire country, prepares annual accounts for the companies and coordinates external audit process.
- In managed hotels or joint ventures, supports relationship and prepares reports for hotel owners.
- Assist in preparation and monitoring of the cash budget for business units under responsibility.
- Has joint power of account management together.
Transactional
- Monitors pending payment amount, service received and SLAs compliance in hotels that receive centralised Credit Management service from Hotel Services.
- Monitors payment collection process in other hotels, ensuring request for payment and collection within defined deadlines to reduce average collection period and avoid non‑payments.
- Monitors service received and compliance with SLAs in hotels that receive centralised service from MHS.
- Monitors processes and compliance with standards and provides constant training for the team under responsibility.
- Identifies and proposes improvements to optimise efficiency in their work and the work done by the administration team under responsibility.
Real Estate
- Handles required documentation for (sub)leasing and space leasing contracts, ensuring all documents are valid; deposits security deposits timely; invoices agreed leases, calculating variable rents, scaling such as CPI updates; follows up on non‑payment.
Requirements
- At least 3/5 years of experience in Hospitality or Hotellerie.
- University education in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting.
- Advanced English and Spanish will be a plus.
- Knowledge of hotel business management and specific requirements.
- Knowledge of projections, budgeting, financial results reporting.
- Knowledge of accounting and financial regulations.
- Management of economic and financial systems.
- Knowledge of hotel operations.
- Tool management: PMS, SAP, Office Package.
