Position Summary
Electronics and Sensing Solutions Engineering department offers an exciting challenge in building-up sustainable value for our customer applications leveraging Dana product portfolio and unique integrated safety solutions.
We’re looking for anElectronics Hardware Design Engineer in Reggio Emilia Location, with 10 years of experience in the off-highway or automotive sector ready to take on the challenge of implementing sensing systems (sensors and control units) applied to complex off-highway machineries.
The candidate will manage activities to develop and maintain new mechatronic products with main focus on Hardware, Firmware and related requirements management activities. In this role, the candidate will be required to collaborate with various stakeholders both internally (i.e. quality, purchasing, manufacturing) and outside the company (suppliers and customers).
You will be part of a high-performance team working in a global environment able to stimulate your skills and competences for a further professional growth. Creativity, innovation and curiosity are the team’ foundations to produce Sensing Solutions to address OEM vehicle needs.
Main Responsibilities
• Hardware and firmware requirements management for new developments
• Writing and optimizing embedded firmware in C language
• Applying the principles of functional safety to design functional safety compliant mechatronics systems.
• Develop and manage Verification and Validation strategy for new products
• Guarantee the application of Quality assurance principles during the entire product lifecycle
• Actively participating in the innovation process and continuous product improvement

Job Position Requirements
Education: University master degree Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
Professional background
10 years experience in:
- smart sensors manufacturers or electronics systems supplier
- academia on mechatronics projects
• Electronics boards design and validation
• MIL/HIL testing environments
• Functional safety standards ISO 13849 and/or ISO 26262 basics
Considered as a plus:
• Model based software (Matlab/Simulilink) and code targetting
• Polarion tool for requirements management
• Atlassian Jira for agile projects management
Soft Skills
• Critical thinking
• Curiosity for the unkown
• Passion for human being
