A global creative sales consultancy is looking for a Business Development Director to lead client expansion in Italy. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in business hunting, preferably within IT or Promotional Sales. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen and interpersonal skills. This is a fully remote position, allowing candidates from anywhere in Italy to apply. Competitive salary up to 150,000 Euros plus commission.

Business Development Director, Up to 150,000 Euros + Strong Commission, Italy Region (Full Remote Working).

Overview of the Business Development Director:

The purpose of the Head of Business Development is to lead our clients expansion in the European market (Italy). This role will take full responsibility for identifying and prospecting new clients against a pipeline and using consultative sales skills in meetings, to learn about prospects challenges and to gain a deep understanding of the client’s product portfolio. The Head of Business Development is a hands on position and comes with fully remote working, therefore the successful candidate can be based anywhere in Italy (although close to Milan would be the ideal).

This company is a global creative sales & promotions consultancy that specialises in designing and executing innovative promotional campaigns to drive consumer sales, enhance brand recognition, and increase profit margins. Established in 2006, the company has seen very strong growth and they have built a reputation for delivering compelling, bespoke promotional solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Business Development Director Duties:

  • Identifying new opportunities to expand the Company’s network specifically in the Italian and European Markets
  • Working with the Marketing team to develop a pipeline of prospects
  • Providing a consultative approach to selling, with demonstration of understanding of clients’ product portfolio, business objectives and the challenges they face in their market
  • Assisting new clients in creating promotional strategy to develop differentiation in the marketplace
  • Analysing promotional trends and regularly presenting insights to new clients, using this as an opportunity to sell
  • Acting as the key contact for new clients within their region
  • Identifying new opportunities to expand the Company’s network
  • Delivering against quarterly and full year GP targets
  • Forecasting accuracy +/- 95%
  • Ensuring legal documentation is signed and approved within deadlines
  • Demonstrating and working to the company’s values and behaviours
  • Keep the CRM system updated with the status of prospects, leads and campaigns as instructed

Ideal Experience / What’s in your DNA?

  • Minimum 5 years’+ new business hunting experience with proven success in winning new business
  • Minimum 5 years’+ experience working within the IT (ideally associated with Smartphones, Laptops or Tablets) or Promotional Sales sector (preferred)
  • Commercial acumen with previous P&L management experience
  • MS Office experience (essential)
  • A passion to go above and beyond for clients at all times
  • Creative, outgoing, able to motivate and inspire others
  • Competitive, self-motivated and driven to succeed
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent business development skills and sales acumen
  • Attention to detail with analytical/statistical analysis skills
  • Fluency in both Italian and English Language is essential
