Key job responsibilities

• Know and follow all Company safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in company accident prevention and safety improvement activities
• Respond to customer requests
• Travel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standards
• Advise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairs
• Keep Generator Service Manager continually apprised, and utilize leadership to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary
• Document detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed
• Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage
• Travel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short notice
• Lift up to 40 lbs frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbs
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required

A day in the life

This role involves extensive travel (80‑90% of the time) to various sites for field service repairs, documentation, and collaboration with the Generator Service Manager to maintain uptime and safety standards.

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 1+ years working directly with generator systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years data center or mission critical engineering experience
• Trained on industrial power generation equipment
• Knowledge of engines, generators and load transfer equipment
• Knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical equipment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
