An energy service company is seeking a Commissioning Instrumentation / Automation Leader in Tuscany, Italy. This role involves leading automation projects, engaging with various stakeholders during the engineering phase, and overseeing FAT and SAT procedures. Candidates should be experienced with ABB systems and ready for offshore work in the UK. The position is for 12 months in Italy followed by 12 months offshore, working on a rotation of 28 days on and 28 days off.

Commissioning Instrumentation / Automation Leader with experience in ABB systems and offshore projects

Workplace : Tuscany Yard, Italy

Contract duration: 12 months in Italy (resident) + 12 months offshore in the UK (28 / 28 rotation)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the engineering phase, interfacing with the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) and/or the Automation Project Specialist Leader (PSL), as well as directly with the automation system vendor, for the identification and refinement of the control system supply.
• Identify, together with the Project Engineering Manager and/or the Automation PSLs, the requirements for the FAT and SAT procedures of the control system and of the systems with which it must interface.
• Analyze the control system from the perspective of network architecture and serial interfacing with other project supplies, such as electrical switchboards and/or packages.
• Identify any Internal Acceptance Tests (IAT), i.e., integrated tests with other supplies prior to their installation.
• Collaborate with the Project Commissioning Manager in defining the commissioning plan and activity sequence, identifying the internal and/or external resources (contractors’ personnel, vendors’ personnel) and/or assets required to perform the activities in accordance with contractual requirements and the project schedule, specifically for the control system.
• Participate in Final Acceptance Test (FAT) activities.
• Act as the Client’s point of contact for all activities related to the commissioning of the control system, including Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and control system commissioning procedures.
