We are currently looking for a Buyer to join our Procurement Department at our headquarters in Parma.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment, services, and subcontracts, ensuring that quality products are acquired at competitive prices and delivered on time to meet project requirements.

Key responsibilities will include managing the bidding process, analyzing bid results, and providing recommendations for award decisions to the Procurement Manager / Coordinator or Project Management. Additionally, the Buyer will prepare purchase orders and contracts based on corporate templates and support the Expediting Team in monitoring delivery timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Procure materials and services for projects in compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulations, particularly those related to procurement, health, safety, environmental, security, and quality standards.
  • Manage the entire procurement process from receiving Material Requisition (MR) or Request for Direct Approval (RDA) to issuing Purchase Orders or Subcontracts.
  • Track the delivery of Purchase Orders and Subcontracts, addressing any issues in collaboration with the Expediting Team or Project Management as necessary.
  • Analyze and prepare tender documents (Bid Packages) by collecting relevant specifications and documents from various departments (e.g., Technical, HSE, Planning).
  • Develop and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to a minimum of three pre-qualified vendors.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager / Coordinator to select vendors and review commercial and technical offers.
  • Lead negotiations regarding prices, terms, conditions, and contracts with suppliers, ensuring full compliance with ethical standards and anti-bribery regulations.
  • Coordinate with Project Management to ensure timely delivery and address any procurement-related issues during the execution phases.
  • Prepare and submit final bid evaluations, negotiate contract terms, and manage the processing of purchase orders, subcontracts, and related agreements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current suppliers and explore opportunities to engage new vendors.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Buyer in the construction industry, preferably within the Oil & Gas, EPC contractors, or Power Generation sectors.
  • Familiarity with JDE or SAP ERP systems is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on ensuring timely procurement and delivery.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and diligent in execution.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
