A leading technology company in Milan is seeking a Bare Pipe Inspector for offshore subsea pipeline projects. This role involves extensive inspection of materials, welds, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate should have 5–15 years of relevant experience and a degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering. Certifications in NDT techniques are preferred. The position offers a full-time contract with strong potential for future opportunities.

Competenze

  • 5–15 years experience in linepipe inspection for offshore subsea pipelines.
  • NDT certifications (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT Level II or III) preferred.

Mansioni

  • Inspect incoming plates and coils, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor pipe forming operations, inspecting for quality and defects.
  • Conduct welding inspections throughout different stages.
  • Witness and review non-destructive testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC procedures.

Now Hiring: Bare Pipe Inspector — Offshore Subsea Pipeline Scheme Project

Location: Milan, Italy (Onsite) — Candidates can apply from anywhere.

Job Type: Contract.

Visa: Schengen Visa will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plate/Coil Receiving & Material Verification
    • Inspect incoming plates/coils for heat numbers, chemical composition, certification, and surface condition.
    • Verify raw materials comply with API 5L, DNV‑ST‑F101, and project specifications.
  • Pipe Forming Process Inspection
    • Monitor SAWL, SAWH, or seamless pipe forming operations.
    • Inspect edge beveling, forming quality, laminations, and surface defects.
  • Welding Inspection
    • Inspect welding processes (SAW/ERW): root, hot, fill, and cap passes.
    • Review WPS, PQR, Welder Qualifications, and Consumable Control.
    • Verify heat input, preheat, and interpass temperatures.
  • Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT)
    • Witness RT, UT, PAUT, AUT, MT, and PT activities.
    • Review NDT maps, acceptance criteria, and repair procedures.
  • Dimensional & Visual Inspection
    • Measure wall thickness, diameter, ovality, straightness, and bevel geometry.
    • Identify dents, cracks, laminations, undercuts, misalignment, and weld defects.
  • Mechanical Testing & Lab Verification
    • Witness tensile, Charpy, DWTT, hardness, and CTOD tests.
    • Confirm compliance with subsea pipeline mechanical property requirements.
  • Hydrostatic Testing
    • Witness hydrostatic tests, verify pressure, hold time, and acceptance criteria.
    • Confirm calibration of test equipment and review test records.
  • Pipe Traceability & Documentation
    • Ensure correct marking, heat number tracking, and pipe numbering.
    • Review MTCs, ITPs, NCRs, and surveillance documentation.
  • Coating Readiness Verification
    • Inspect surface preparation, cleanliness, and pre‑coating conditions.
    • Verify readiness for FBE, 3LPE, or 3LPP coating operations.
  • HSE Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure adherence to mill HSE and QA/QC procedures.
    • Participate in vendor audits and quality coordination meetings.
    • Ensure full compliance with approved ITPs and Quality Plans.
Technical Competence Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of linepipe manufacturing (SAWL/SAWH/seamless).
  • Expertise in NDT techniques: RT, UT, PAUT, AUT, MT, PT.
  • Understanding of welding metallurgy and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to interpret WPS/PQR, NDT reports, MTCs, mill records.
  • Knowledge of API 5L PSL2/PSL3, DNV‑ST‑F101, ISO standards.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering.
  • 5–15 years experience in linepipe inspection for offshore subsea pipelines.
  • NDT certifications (PCN/CSWIP/ASNT Level II or III) preferred.

Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
