Job Summary

The Application Engineer gives direct technical support to internal and external customers regarding product/application information, product selection and special quotation. In case of projects related to Building Service, Industrial or Public Utilities applications or involving key customers, the engineer works closely with Sales coordinating the activities of internal departments (Product Management, R&D, Operations) to deliver the requested documentation. This role is critical to ensure customer satisfaction and quick on‑field problem solving.

Responsibilities
  • Provide customers with technical support for selection of standard/customized products, showcasing an extensive knowledge of our product portfolio and possible applications.
  • Work together with Sales to understand customer needs / applications and provide the best, profitable product solutions (standard or customized).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing, Master Planning and Operations to define the best technical solution for the Customer.
  • Quote customized/standard products for single projects or develop offers for tenders.
  • Support training department and sales by giving support to customers (customer visit, witness test).
  • Assist Sales Assistants to resolve issues about customer product needs.
  • Contribute new ideas/suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical solutions to OEM and large/international key accounts in the EMEA region.
  • Support OEM KAMs of Xylem Commercial team (Sales).
  • Provide feedback to product management team on highly requested special features.
  • Attend exhibitions.
  • Visit customers on demand for technical support to commercial team (Sales).
  • Work closely with Sales on specific Industrial and/or Public Utilities projects.
  • Collaborate in project management.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good spoken and written English and Italian are mandatory.
  • Other languages spoken and written will be considered a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 or 2 years of experience in a related field and position.
  • Experience in the Customer Service area (Technical Support, After Sales, Pre‑Sales) is a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with complex organization and processes (ability to work across boundaries) is a plus.
Contract

Permanent, full‑time – hybrid.
