Transportation Manager Overview

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods within the company. This role involves planning and optimizing transportation routes, managing a fleet of vehicles, leading a team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing technology solutions for enhanced efficiency. The position plays a crucial role in controlling costs, maintaining customer satisfaction, and mitigating risks associated with transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
• Utilize route planning software and tools to enhance efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
• Monitor and analyze route performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Manage a fleet of vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other transportation assets.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
• Oversee fuel efficiency and maintenance costs.
