Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Minimum 3–5 years experience in wastewater treatment plant operations

At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Strong understanding of: activated sludge process, aeration systems, clarifiers and sludge handling, chemical dosing and disinfection systems

Ability to read and interpret: process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA systems and operational logs

Knowledge of laboratory testing (BOD, COD, TSS, pH, DO, MLSS, etc.)

Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills

Fluent in writing and speaking in English.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the treatment plant during assigned shifts, ensuring that all equipment and processes function effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of plant operators and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
  • Monitor effluent quality, adjust treatment processes as necessary, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge standards.
  • Identify and address operational issues or malfunctions promptly, coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data, treatment processes, and incidents, and prepare reports as required.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and environmental hazards.
  • Train new staff members and provide ongoing training to ensure team members are up to date with operational procedures and safety regulations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the treatment plant.
