A leading logistics firm in Jakarta Utara seeks a seasoned sales manager with over 8 years of experience in container shipping. You will be responsible for achieving revenue targets, managing key accounts, and executing rate negotiations. Ideal candidates should have a proven track record in Intra-Asia trade lanes, possess strong negotiation and relationship-management skills, and maintain a customer network within Indonesia. This role requires working in a target-driven environment with minimal supervision.
Experience with top-tier Korean Intra-Asia container liners or established regional shipping operators.
Familiar with selling container services to both direct shippers and forwarders.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of liner sales mechanics, rate structures, and booking processes.
Existing customer network within Indonesia.
Calm, emotionally stable, and composed personality; able to handle pressure, conflict, and differing management styles without escalation.
Demonstrated ability to mediate, align, and communicate clearly across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
Minimum 8 years of sales experience in a container shipping line or neutral consolidator (LCL/NVOCC).
Proven track record handling Intra-Asia trade lanes, preferably Korea–SEA.
Solid understanding of:
liner sales and booking processes,
container equipment and space allocation,
rate structures and trade practices.
Existing customer network within Indonesia (especially Jakarta and industrial areas).
Willing to work in a target-driven sales environment.
Achieve monthly and annual volume (TEU) and revenue targets for assigned Intra-Asia trade lanes.
Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts (direct shippers, forwarders, and NVOCCs).
Execute rate negotiations, spot pricing, and contract follow-ups in alignment with trade and management direction.
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure high booking conversion.
Conduct regular customer visits and maintain close commercial relationships.
Coordinate closely with pricing, customer service, documentation, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
Monitor market movements, competitor activities, and trade trends within Intra-Asia lanes.
Prepare weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and market intelligence summaries.
