Job Description
  1. Coordinate the activities and output of the entire drafting team.
  2. Ensure all drawings used comply with the latest revision (revision control).
  3. Direct the creation of spool drawings based on isometrics and P&IDs.
  4. Direct the drafting team in the preparation of joint numbering for fabrication and field installation purposes.
  5. Prepare and ensure the creation of accurate weld maps for the QA/QC team and the site team.
  6. Verify materials based on isometrics and MTOs from the consultant.
  7. Prepare internal Material Take-Offs (MTOs) when necessary.
  8. Verify all engineering documents meet company and project standards.
  9. Liaise between the internal engineering team and the external consultant for clarifications.
  10. Submit technical queries (TQs/RFIs) to the consultant when drawing discrepancies arise.
  11. Coordinate with the HO team for design changes or drawing revisions.
  12. Ensure all isometric spools are properly marked and legible to the site team.
  13. Coordinate the drawing workflow from the initial stage to final approval.
  14. Develop the drafter's work schedule and ensure targets are met.
  15. Conduct site visits to verify actual conditions.
  16. Prepare weekly engineering/drafting progress reports for management.
  17. Identify potential conflicts, missing items, or discrepancies between P&IDs and isometrics.
  18. Oversee spool alignment with orientation, dimensions, elevations, and support details.
  19. Transfer data between spool drawings, welding maps, and joint lists.
  20. Assist the QC team with documentation requirements for welding, hydrotesting, and mechanical finishing.
  21. Oversee the implementation of design changes from the consultant.
  22. Ensure all documentation is traceable according to audit standards.
  23. Prepare documents for pre-fabrication or technical meetings.
  24. Control the quality of drawings before submission to the fabrication or site team.
  25. Manage the document storage system (digital & physical) for easy access by the relevant teams.
  26. Resolve technical issues that arise during the fabrication and installation process.
  27. Coordinate the preparation of documents for hydrotests or pressure test packs.
  28. Support the site team regarding drawing comprehension, combined numbering, and technical revisions.
  29. Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders (engineering, QC, site, consultants, and users).
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Marine Engineering or a relevant major.
  2. Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer / Engineering Coordinator on piping or fabrication projects.
  3. Able to read and understand P&ID drawings well.
  4. Proficient in reading detailed isometric drawings (elevation, orientation, dimensions).
  5. Understanding of welding standards and symbols (WPS, PQR, weld symbols).
  6. Experience creating or reviewing spool drawings.
  7. Understanding of the joint numbering process and integration with welding mapping systems.
  8. Familiarity with workflow engineering for piping projects.
  9. Must be able to communicate actively in English, especially to communicate with foreign consultants.
  10. Proficient in AutoCAD software.
  11. Proficient in Navisworks for reviewing 3D models (a plus).
  12. Understanding of industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, and API (a plus).
  13. Experience working with large amounts of technical documentation.
  14. Leadership skills to direct a team of drafters.
  15. Able to prioritize work based on project milestones.
  16. Detail-oriented and meticulous in reviewing technical drawings.
  17. Able to prepare MTOs and cross-check materials.
  18. Understanding of spool fabrication and on-site installation processes.
  19. Accustomed to creating technical progress reports.
  20. Strong problem-solving skills.
  21. Able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  22. Accustomed to communicating with foreign consultants/clients via email, online, and offline meetings.
  23. Understands the document revision process (revision control).
  24. Basic understanding of NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT) for welding joints (added value).
  25. Willing to be placed on-site.
  26. Disciplined, responsible, and proactive.
  27. Able to read and understand piping classes and material specifications.
  28. Organized in storing and managing technical documents.
  29. Professional work ethic and commitment to quality work.
