A leading engineering firm in Indonesia seeks an experienced procurement professional. The role involves sourcing materials, preparing purchase orders, and managing supplier negotiations. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree and over 10 years of procurement experience in the oil & gas or engineering industry. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in ERP systems. The position requires flexibility to work on project sites and liaise with various teams.
Sourcing and procuring materials and services from Company AVL in the most efficient and cost-effective method in accordance with Company procedures and code of business conduct.
Preparing and issuing purchase orders for the supply of services, goods and materials
Implementing and controlling project/contract specific purchasing strategies
Participating in detailed procurement planning work to ensure timely selection of suppliers and optimal timing of order commitments.
Managing all Supplier communication including price negotiations with suppliers/bidders to achieve demonstrable price reductions, resolving claims and handling technical/commercial concessions/variations
Carrying out post-order administration including variations, expediting and inspection requirements, invoice queries, completion of performance feedback for close out.
Managing the approval, reporting and presentation activities around delegated scopes to both internal and external bodies, including progress of buying against project schedule, maintaining procurement status reports and maintaining purchase order records from award through to close out and archiving.
Ensuring the correct use of the ERP system for all procurement activities.
Attending and participating in progress meetings as well as representing the Supply Chain function at meetings when required
Reviewing purchase requirements to ensure that sufficient information is available to proceed and that the required delivery date is defined and agreed with the project.
Liaising effectively with project/ops teams and fostering relationships internally and with suppliers and clients
Routinely multitasking and tracking PO’s and commodities across multiple projects, clients, work streams and stakeholders.
Providing details of risk and suggest mitigations associated with schedule slippages.
Providing accurate updates and reports to key internal stakeholders in support of Project plans and activities.
Ensure compliance with OIL STATES INDUSTRIES HSE Policies and HSE Management System.
Ensure compliance with OIL STATES INDUSTRIES Quality Policies and Quality Management System.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification is a plus (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent).
Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in Experience in oil & gas, construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors is highly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project procurement or purchasing in a project-based environment
Proficient in ERP or procurement software systems.
Experience of supplier evaluation and/or auditing is a plus.
Strong understanding of: Procurement processes and supply chain principles, Contractual terms (e.g., Incoterms, payment terms, bid evaluations) and ERP systems.
Familiarity with basic project management and project execution phases
Proven involvement in end-to-end procurement within project timelines and budgets.
Ability to develop and manage strong vendor relationships
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety
Strong IT experience in MS packages and ERP/MRP systems
Experience of supplier evaluation and/or auditing

Ability to manage confidential data and sensitive negotiations professionally
Flexibility to comply and adapt to company and customer requirements.
Proficient in both spoken and written English, with the ability to produce clear and professional procurement documents, reports, and formal communications.
Other Requirements: Willingness to work in project sites or travel when required.
