Job summary

A leading packaging solutions company in Indonesia is seeking a qualified Packaging Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and optimizing packaging designs, resolving production issues, and improving processes. A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in the packaging industry are required. Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks is essential, and knowledge of English and potentially Chinese is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Background in emerging tobacco, pharmaceutical, or food industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with production processes such as injection molding and UV printing.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the review of packaging structure design for company products, ensuring leak-proof performance, sealing integrity, safety, user experience, and manufacturability.
  • Optimize packaging processes to enhance automation efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Resolve packaging-related issues in production (e.g., material deformation, equipment compatibility) to ensure product yield rates. Identify potential risks and propose alternative solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in packaging engineering, industrial design or related fields;
  • Be able to use English as a working language for daily communication; knowledge of Chinese/Mandarin is preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the packaging industry and background in emerging tobacco, pharmaceutical, or food industries is preferred;
  • Proficient in CAD/SolidWorks and other design software; familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus;
  • Strong understanding of packaging material properties (e.g., barrier performance, compressive strength) and production processes (injection molding, hot stamping, UV printing).
  • Able to travel and be based temporarily at supplier facilities for on-site coordination and support.
