Merger and Acquisition - Chemical Sector

The Chemical Sector M&A role will drive end-to-end mergers and acquisitions activities to support the company’s growth strategy in the chemical sector. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent financial modelling capabilities, and the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable transaction plans. The ideal candidate has deep experience in M&A, preferably with exposure to chemicals or related heavy industries.

Key Responsibilities

Identify potential acquisition, divestment, and partnership opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.

Conduct market scans and competitive landscape assessments within the chemical sector.

Lead financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analysis for potential deals.

Evaluate strategic and financial fit for targets, including synergies, risks, and value drivers.

Coordinate cross‑functional due diligence (legal, tax, finance, operations, EHS, supply chain).

Assess commercial, operational, and regulatory risks specific to chemical businesses.

Prepare Investment Committee materials and support negotiation processes.

Work with legal teams to review and structure transaction documents (SPA, JV agreements, etc.).

Partner closely with senior leadership, business units, and global counterparts.

Manage external advisors such as consultants, bankers, and legal firms.

Requirements

Min. 7–8+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, or strategy consulting.

Proven track record leading or supporting multiple end‑to‑end M&A transactions is a plus.

Strong valuation, financial modelling, and analytical skills.

Experience working with deal advisors, legal counsel, and cross‑functional teams.

Excellent communication skills, especially in preparing executive‑level presentations.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.

Consulting background (strategy or M&A-focused) is a strong plus.
