Job description
The Role

Weatherford is seeking an experienced Field Specialist III specializing in Fishing and Well Intervention operations to provide solutions and operate advanced fishing and whipstock tools in the field. This senior‑level position serves as the key technical interface with clients at well sites, leading service assignments, mentoring junior specialists, and using extensive knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across drilling, completions, remedial work‑overs, and P&A operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical solutions and operate fishing and whipstock tools in the field across drilling, completions, remedial work‑overs, and P&A operations.
  • Serve as primary client interface at well sites, managing service assignments and coordinating Weatherford personnel to ensure superior service quality delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise field operation crew members, acting as technical advisor to management and interpreting data for client representatives to optimize services.
  • Perform comprehensive job planning, tool preparation, equipment mobilization, and job execution while maintaining all required documentation for accurate client invoicing.
  • Work effectively on both pulling units and drilling rigs, demonstrating proficiency in calculating oil industry volumes, pressures, and forces.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on company‑owned rental equipment in the field as needed to ensure operational readiness and equipment reliability.
  • Participate in or lead equipment failure investigations supporting Root Cause Analysis reports, following up with R&M team to ensure failure reports are closed with clients.
  • Conduct engineering checks while on client location, including hand calculations, software computation updates, or new computations based on latest data.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data to recommend optimized services and solutions while maintaining equipment and work areas in safe, presentable condition.
  • Manage inventory and supplies required at well sites, available on 24‑hour call basis to respond promptly to customer needs and operational demands.
Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of Oil & Gas industry experience with minimum 5 years in Fishing & Well Intervention operations required.
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required; 2‑year College degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in providing solutions and operating fishing and whipstock tools in field environments.
  • Proficiency in calculating basic oil industry volumes, pressures, and forces with keen understanding of drilling, completions, remedial work‑overs, and P&A operations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively on pulling units and drilling rigs with capability to perform field maintenance and repairs on rental equipment.
  • Strong fundamentals in Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and mathematical reasoning.
  • Technical Certificate from accredited Technical/Vocational School preferred.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and strong judgment aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding field work with ability to travel domestically and internationally 50-75%.
  • Available for 24‑hour on‑call response to meet customer needs and operational requirements.
