Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Batam is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical installations meet specifications and standards. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, possess IECEx and QC certifications, and have at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Excellent communication and documentation skills in English are a must.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as E&I inspector in shipyard or oil & gas.
• Prior experience with EPC contractors preferred.
• QC or Electrical Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical installations meet project specifications.
• Coordinate with classification societies and inspection agencies.
• Conduct material inspections and in-process audits.

Job description

To ensure that all electrical installations and systems are executed according to project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. Responsible for inspection, documentation, testing, and quality assurance of electrical work on-site.

• To carry out, coordinate and arrange the job/activities as requested by department objective.

• Coordinate and liaise with classification societies, third party inspection agencies, ship superintendents and other trades to ensure adherence to related Standard.

• Ensure that the work carried out complies with international construction codes and project specification.

• Material and equipment incoming inspection.

• Perform in-process and final inspection on E&I and other jobs in shop and onboard.

• Verify that the E&I are installed according to approved plans.

• Do internal inspection and lead to carry out final survey and acceptance with class surveyor and owner representatives.

• Ensure quality inspection safety precaution.

• To ensure ITP is strictly followed and inspection and testing are carried-out in a timely manner.

• Prepare ITR

• To ensure inspection report with proper documentation and confirmed signed by Client and Class.

• Minimum High School, Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Have IECEx Certificates

• Minimum of 5 years of E&I inspector experience in shipyard, oil & gas industry or related field

• Prior experience with EPC contractors or in major oil and gas projects preferred.

• Have QC or Electrical Certification

• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

• Excellent understanding of industry codes and standards
