Job summary

A prominent oil and gas company is seeking an experienced Geophysicist to ensure the integrity of geophysical data in operations. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience and a degree in Geophysics or Geology. Responsibilities include managing survey data, leading geophysical analysis, and ensuring compliance with company standards. Applicants should be fluent in English and knowledgeable about geophysical methods, including familiarity with CAD software. This position is based in Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in Geophysic/Geological/Hydrographic Survey in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of geophysical survey procedures, processing, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Experience in delta environments and offshore areas.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all geophysical data are valid and interpretable.
  • Manage and document survey data during operations.
  • Lead onboard Geophysical Data Quality Control.

Geophysicist
b) Required experience and skills
  • Have a minimum 5 - 7 years working experiences in Geophysic/Geological/Hydrographic Survey in oil and gas industry;
  • Have a minimum bachelor degree in Geophysic/Geology or an acceptable equivalent;
  • Have a complete awareness of Health, Safety, Security and Environment Rules;
  • Have experiences and good knowledge related to seabed and sub-seabed geology, geophysical method and tools, recent sedimentation as well as geodetic mapping and positioning;
  • Have strong knowledge and familiar with geophysical method and its tools for engineering survey, including interpretation of data acquired;
  • Have work experience in delta environment, including its offshore area;
  • Fluent in English and able to produce precise, factual and reliable reports of activities;
  • Have strong knowledge of all type of geophysical survey procedures and specifications, including it’s processing as well as interpretation and reporting;
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or other CAD software;
  • Able to work in a team and have good personality.
c) Responsibility
  • To ensure all geophysical data are valid, acceptable and interpretable;
  • To ensure all survey operations meet the COMPANY requirements/specifications;
  • To ensure all survey data are well managed and documented during survey operation;
  • To ensure all the processing and reporting achieve high qualification analysis.
c) Scope of activities
  • To advise suitable methodology and procedure of Geophysical Survey;
  • To lead onboard Geophysical Data Quality Controller;
  • To lead onboard data analysis during survey operation;
  • To lead geophysical data processing and analysis.;
  • Based in CONTRACTOR’s Base Camp/onboard vessel;
  • Report to CONTRACTOR’s Site Manager.
