About Us:

Envar is a producer and supplier of high-quality soil improver, woodland garden mulch, wood chip, and biomass. We operate green waste composting sites across England, including Surrey, Northamptonshire, West London, Essex, Kent, and Suffolk, as well as our flagship site in Cambridgeshire where we also process food waste.

About the role:

1. Comply with site rules, H&S regulations, and follow safe systems of work.
2. Ensure the site is kept clean and tidy, including inside welfare and offices and throughout the main yard.
3. If operating machinery, ensure it is maintained to required standards, including daily & weekly checks, refuelling, lubrication, and greasing; report defects and breakdowns promptly.
4. Report and complete defect reports immediately.
5. Maintain a safe working environment, keeping work areas tidy and access to walkways and emergency exits clear.
6. Deliver high standards of customer care and service quality.
7. Ensure appropriate safety equipment and PPE are used at all times.
8. Immediately report contamination, non-conforming wastes, accidents, incidents, near misses, environmental hazards, and safety breaches to the Supervisor or Manager.
9. Undertake necessary training to operate other plant, equipment, or supervisory duties.
10. Complete manual handling activities to support waste management tasks.
11. Assist other operatives upon request and when authorized by your Supervisor.
12. Perform other operational duties as needed for business continuity.
13. Take care of your own health and safety and that of others affected by your actions at work.
14. Cooperate, report unsafe conditions, and comply with management systems and safe work procedures to meet legal requirements.

5. Experience in the waste industry.
