Strategic Town & Country Planner — Consents
Job summary
A planning consultancy is seeking a Town and Country Planner to join their in-house team in Worthing, UK. The role involves delivering planning consents, advising on construction projects, and developing strategies aligned with current planning legislation. Candidates should have an RTPI-accredited MSc in Town and Country Planning and a strong background in the water or utilities sector. Competitive salary ranging from £47,000 to £66,500 annually.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of current and emerging planning legislation ideally within the water or utilities sector.
- Experience within a corporate or regulated environment.
- Knowledge of environmental initiatives such as biodiversity net gain.
- Excellent analytical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Detailed understanding of the Town and Country Planning Act and related regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver planning consents managing all related activities.
- Work collaboratively within project teams.
- Advise on all consents required for construction projects.
- Contribute to policy regulatory advice affecting consents delivery.
- Develop and implement planning and consultation strategies.
- Build relationships with local planning authorities.
