A renewable energy startup in Greater London is looking for a Hardware Compliance & Test Engineer to ensure their products meet regulatory and safety standards. You will conduct hands-on testing, prepare systems for certification, and troubleshoot issues. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in a related engineering role. This position offers a competitive salary, biannual bonuses, and a fully expensed technology package.
Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.
We’re creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.
We're building the next generation of distributed energy infrastructure, spanning grid-connected assets, on-site generation, storage and intelligent control systems. Our work sits at the intersection of hardware, software and regulation, enabling faster deployment of reliable, compliant energy systems across the UK and Europe.
As a Hardware Compliance & Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Fuse’s hardware products and energy systems meet applicable regulatory, safety and performance requirements throughout their lifecycle. You will work hands-on with prototypes and deployed systems, collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, software and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical, testable engineering outcomes.
In this role, you will be directly involved in market access, certification and post-deployment surveillance, navigating a broad regulatory landscape including electrical safety, EMC, grid connection standards and environmental compliance.
