Job summary
A leading civil engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a Groundworks Supervisor to manage site safety, team performance, and groundworks delivery across diverse projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive groundworks expertise, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A proactive mindset and relevant certifications are required for this full-time role. Competitive pay ranges from £20 to £35 per hour.

- Ensure operatives are working safely, efficiently, and to plan.
- Oversee plant materials and labour to meet programme deadlines.
- Supervise safe excavation around live/buried services.
- Drive high standards in quality, health & safety, and productivity.

- Ensure operatives are working safely efficiently and to plan.
- Oversee plant materials and labour to meet programme deadlines.
- Supervise safe excavation around live / buried services.
- Translate site programmes into practical on‑the‑ground activities.
- Drive high standards in quality health & safety and productivity.
- Manage and coordinate sub‑contractors and on-site teams.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and site management.
- Interpret drawings and technical build details confidently.
- Apply strong commercial awareness to day‑to‑day decision‑making.
- Expertise in all areas of groundworks including – Ground beams, drainage, sub‑structure concrete, externals, roads, housing slabs, cut & fill and more.
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative can‑do approach.
- Proven experience working independently and as part of a team.
- CITB SMSTS (5-Day Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Supervisor Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Safety Critical Medical (Site‑Specific)
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Able to collaborate with other trades to support programme delivery.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Completion of IT induction and training within the first 13 months.
