Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full time, Monday- Friday, 09:00am-17:30pm
Rate: £23 - £29 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Locum ACT Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Westcliff-on-Sea. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including accredited checking of prescriptions, supporting the dispensary, and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of patient care and supporting the pharmacy team.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services, including accredited checking of prescriptions, supporting the dispensary, and managing medication therapy. You will work closely with the pharmacy team to ensure the safe and effective use of medications, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and provide technical advice and support to healthcare staff. Your role will also involve educating and training junior staff and contributing to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy services.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience/Knowledge:
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Experienced ACT (Accredited Checking Technician) technician with medicines management training will be considered
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy services
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
