Job summary

Qualifications
- Experience in Rehabilitation, General Adult, or Forensic Psychiatry is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Manage inpatient care for male low secure service.
- Participate in on-call work as required.
- Conduct access assessments for service admission.
- Engage in additional activities based on collaboration with consultant colleagues.

This is an exciting time to join us as a Consultant Psychiatrist. This opportunity is for a full-time post within our male low secure service based at the Lowry Unit, Prestwich Hospital.
The post combines elements of Rehabilitation, General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry, and applicants from all these backgrounds are welcomed.
The role will allow a successful candidate to contribute to the development of our new model of care and to shape the future of secure services for men from Greater Manchester.
You will be supported by a full and expanding complement of multidisciplinary colleagues, with the current position being that you will work with a medical secretary, junior doctor(s), clinical psychologist, social worker, occupational therapist, and our nursing colleagues. To support our service user’s physical health, there is additionally a visiting GP, dentist and well‑established physical health team.
