Job summary
A leading ecological consultancy in the UK is seeking a Principal Ecologist to provide expert support and lead on ecological management strategies. The candidate will manage ecological projects, mentor colleagues, and advise on environmental legislation. Qualifications
- CIEEM membership at Associate Level or above is required.
- Experience with ecological project management from start to finish.
- Knowledge in identifying habitats using UKHab methods.
Responsibilities
- Lead on ecological surveying and logistics planning.
- Advise on environmental legislation updates.
- Coach and mentor colleagues in ecology.
Skills
CIEEM membership (Associate Level or above)
Experience managing ecological projects
Understanding/application of habitat identification using UKHab methods
Proficiency preparing EPSL & GIS documents
Knowledge of UK legislation and policy
Experience working on the railway network
Education
Degree in Ecology or related field
