The post will support studies led by Professor Petousi and Professor Pavord: the Oxford Airways Study on phenotyping of airway diseases and a randomised controlled trial of dupilumab in patients with high‑risk type‑2 high asthma (HOTHOT). You will recruit participants, conduct research visits as a medically qualified investigator, support trial delivery and data collection, undertake laboratory work, analyse data, and contribute to reports and publications. • Write progress reports for the HOTHOT study, as required and participate in relevant meetings.
  • Accept technical training in necessary methods, where appropriate, as well as mandatory training as required.
  • Run research clinics for patients with asthma and COPD and communicate with collaborators locally and nationally.
  • Write papers and contribute to publications and participate in seminars and conferences.
  • Work effectively within the team and with collaborators, which may include supporting or supervising junior members of the team on a day to day basis.
  • Regular meetings with project supervisors regarding progress of project & attend relevant group meetings and knowledge of relevant literature.
  • Participate in and support the public engagement and widening access activities of the Department and the University. This is anticipated to be not more than 2 days per year.

  • Hold MRCP or equivalent, with higher specialist training in respiratory medicine and/or interest in relevant therapeutic interest (however applicants from any clinical specialty will be considered).
Experience
  • A strong academic record as evidenced by undergraduate degree and/or research outputs.
  • Hold significant experiences of patient and public facing activities, both in clinical and non-clinical settings, including PPIE.
  • Evidence of interdisciplinary and collaborative working, both within clinical and research settings, but also with colleagues from non-clinical technical disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings.
  • Demonstrable interest in clinical trial research and excellent data analytic skills.
  • Demonstrated significant interest and passion for Respiratory research.
