As a solutions architect working as part of the enterprise architecture team in the Data & Digital team you will be responsible for design activities associated with the Trust EPR solution across architecture domains (business, applications, data and infrastructure).

• Work closely with the Chief Technology Officer and other architects to create and enact the future vision for the trust, contributing to the aim of becoming a digital hospital.
• Play a key role in ensuring successful scoping and delivery of EPR project work, providing direction, guidance and governance to technical delivery teams.
• Collaborate with the trust’s managed business partner for IT on multiple projects, transforming requirements specifications into clear solution designs within the enterprise architecture framework.
• Maintain engagement throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design and delivery phases meet expectations, are fit for purpose and comply with appropriate standards.
• Foster and encourage innovation, keeping up to date with emerging technologies and having broad experience of information systems in large and complex organisations.
• Lead the delivery of EPR CIP plans, provide support to the EPR Application Team, and offer technical oversight, advice and governance to UHL and 3rd Party Business Partner teams.
• Assume responsibility for the assurance of any new Trust‑wide EPR system functionality, aligning with existing and future implementation programmes and supporting the Trust’s digital maturity strategy.
• Act as a specialist point of contact for EPR configuration, influencing stakeholders to keep configuration consistent and supported.
• Take the lead on resolving configuration issues, escalating risks and initiating corrective action for responsible projects.
• Build and nurture key relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.

• Essential: Degree level qualification in computer science or relevant discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Essential: On‑going self‑led programme of Continuous Professional Development.
• Desirable: Masters level qualification in computer science or relevant discipline.
• Desirable: TOGAF certified.
• Desirable: ISEB certified.
• Desirable: Microsoft certified to MCITP level or equivalent experience with MS technologies.

• Essential: Minimum 5 years detailed practical experience of IT in a large complex organisation.
• Essential: Demonstrable success in at least two of the following disciplines: application management, application development, data management, data integration, desktop support, data centre, networking, database design and management, security.
• Essential: Exposure to multiple, diverse technical application technologies.
• Essential: Design and implementation experience.
• Desirable: Minimum 7 years detailed practical experience of IT in a large complex acute healthcare organisation.
• Desirable: Demonstrable success in at least three of the following disciplines: application management, application development, data management, data integration, desktop support, data centre, networking, database design and management, security.

• Essential: Experience of product evaluation and selection, objectively comparing options to determine the best solution to the business need.
• Essential: Ability to identify and articulate multiple technical solutions to business problems.
