About The Role

Are you a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care? We're looking for someone to join our dynamic Pharmacy Services team and ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical services. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Lead Pharmacist in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients. This role involves accurately screening and clinically checking prescriptions, developing competence in all therapies and medications dispensed, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Please note this role is for Night shift cover - after training you will work on a rota from 10pm-6am on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership and Support: Provide specialist advice and clinical leadership for patient care, including the clinical verification of prescriptions according to GPhC guidelines. Offer timely, expert clinical advice to medical and nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care. You will be required to be the responsible pharmacist on shift.
  • Operational Excellence: Support continuous improvement within Pharmacy Services by collaborating with external departments to ensure efficient and safe care. Help maintain an organized facility, ensuring colleague training and assessment, and contribute to business projects and Key Value Drivers.
  • Onboarding and Training: Assist in the onboarding of new business and patients, develop new prescription templates, and create training materials. Provide both operational and clinical training to ensure the team is well‑prepared and knowledgeable.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with SOPs and best practices in prescription processing. Adhere to standards set by regulatory bodies, including RPSGB and GPhC. Participate in departmental audits and ensure operational processes comply with GMP and MHRA standards.

About You
  • Registered Pharmacist (GPhC).
  • Knowledge of specialist therapy areas or a strong understanding of the principles in dealing with clinical specialties and complex drug therapies (e.g., oncology, rheumatology, renal medicine, parenteral nutrition).
  • Experience working in home‑care pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or another relevant environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing pharmacy practice in the UK.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to hold professional relationships with pharmacy technicians, healthcare professionals, and other colleagues.
  • Able to act as a Responsible Pharmacist.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate dispensing of medications.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with new medications, treatment guidelines, and regulatory changes.
