Job summary

A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Senior Prison Services Technician to manage the medicines management service in various prisons. The role requires overseeing prescriptions and supervising junior staff. Suitable candidates should have an NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and a registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician. A minimum of 4 years in prison or hospital pharmacy and excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years prison or hospital pharmacy experience.
  • 2 years mental health experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily the Medicines Management Service at allocated prison.
  • Administer medicines to offenders against valid prescriptions.
  • Supervise junior medicine management staff.

Skills

Good knowledge of working within a set of SOPs
Good oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills

Education

NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician
Evidence of CPD
