The Service aims to provide patients with treatment to relieve pain, swellings, and the management of injuries and traumas. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Locum Dental Nurse to join our team, providing high‑quality dental support services to patients in care homes across Manchester. The role involves assisting the dentist with dental equipment and ensuring patient comfort in a busy, unpredictable environment.

• Assist the dentist with all dental equipment and procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort and reassurance, especially for nervous or anxious patients.
• Maintain a high standard of infection control, keeping up to date with HTM01‑05.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the dental team, supporting and helping one another.
• Contribute suggestions and ideas to improve quality and outcomes for patients.
• Assist with any reasonable duties requested by the dental team.

• GDC registered Dental Nurse.
• NVQ L3 or equivalent in Dental Nursing.
• Experience in an emergency dental setting preferred.
• Knowledge or experience of Dentally software.
• UK professional registration required.

• Honest and trustworthy.
• Confidence in dealing with patients and unexpected situations.
• Teamworking ability and capacity to work autonomously.
• Negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to act on own initiative.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• IT skills.
• Experience in safeguarding and probing questions in a delicate manner.
• Dental radiography experience.
