A leading healthcare provider is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in VTE Prevention to lead on VTE care and provide quality improvement. The role involves clinical responsibilities, education, and management within the Trust. Expect a salary ranging from £47,810 to £54,710 per year, with a full-time flexible working pattern.
Job summary: A 12 month secondment to cover the Trust VTE Prevention Clinical Nurse specialist role. The VTE Prevention CNS leads on VTE prevention care, adherence to NICE VTE guidance, surveillance, analysis and improvement of VTE risk assessment rates, hospital associated thrombosis cases, VTE staff education, VTE patient information and appropriate use of thromboprophylaxis measures. Activity will involve data collection, analysis, presentation and dissemination, staff education activities, awareness initiatives and quality improvement work. As part of the thrombosis nursing team, the post holder will participate in regular clinical activity in the nurse led anticoagulation and DVT services.

The Jobholder will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload, including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The jobholder will provide highly specialised nursing advice specific to the patient group or specialty. The job holder will contribute to the development of the specialty service as well as contributing to the strategic direction of nursing within the Trust. The jobholder will manage and lead a band 6 VTE nurse specialist and be responsible for the effective use of resources within the clinical team.
