Descripción del empleo
Trainee Chartered Accountant – ACA (School leaver)

What does it mean to be a chartered accountant?

Chartered accountants create, shape, and build strong economies and communities globally. The ACA is a globally recognised chartered accountancy qualification designed to provide trainees with the professional skills and strategic insight they'll need to make a real impact.

Imagine more with the Next Generation ACA

The role of the accountant is changing. To ensure ICAEW Chartered Accountants are prepared for the future, we will be introducing changes to our qualifications from September 2025.

The ACA offers a structured training and development programme with four integrated elements, emphasising professional development and nurturing skills beyond technical accountancy. Here’s what ACA students will be doing:

  1. Practical Work Experience: Record 450 days of relevant ‘on-the-job’ work experience during the period of approved training.
  2. Ethics and Professional Curiosity: Follow a structured programme focusing on integrity, objectivity, and independence.
  3. Accountancy, Finance, and Business Modules: Complete 15 modules across three levels, each with its own computer-based exam.
  4. Professional Development: Demonstrate competence in seven key professional skills by providing examples from work experience.
Training

Entry requirements can vary between employers, but most expect at least three A*-C grades at GCSE. Once qualified, ICAEW Chartered Accountants can pursue various career specialisms and industries.
