As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in React Native (Expo) at Fanalysis, you'll be at the heart of building our mobile application that connects passionate football fans worldwide. You'll work directly with the founding team to architect, develop, and optimize our fan-focused platform from the ground up.

• Guiding the team on the direction of the development of the front end application, ensuring exceptional user experience and performance.
• Knowing when to adopt existing tools versus creating custom solutions.
• Collaborating with designers to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive, intuitive interfaces.
• Taking a holistic approach to development, considering user flows, potential edge cases, and opportunities for exceptional user experiences.
• Working closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and services.
• Working with product owners to ensure the overall vision is reflected in the backlog.
• Ensuring regular security patches and updates are applied; and performance is considered in every sprint.
• Helping the team to standardise coding standards; libraries; tools and approaches.
• Staying current with mobile development trends and suggesting innovative features that enhance fan engagement.
• Contributing to product strategy discussions, bringing your technical expertise to help shape our roadmap.

• 3 years of experience as a commercial React Native (Expo) and JavaScript developer with apps deployed on the App Store/Google Play.
• A further 3 years of experience as a mobile or web developer using other technologies such as Kotlin, Swift or React.
• You're an enthusiastic and positive individual and a great communicator.
• You have strong opinions, speak freely about your ideas, give and take feedback and embrace failure.
• You've owned the end-to-end process of building, testing, and deploying React Native applications through structured development and release cycles.
• Proven experience with building applications with rich animation such as Lottie animations, Reanimated and/or Moti.
• Experience with TypeScript or another strongly typed JavaScript language like FlowType.
• Experience with state management tools like Zustand or similar.
• Experience with UI end to end testing with tools like Maestro.
• Demonstrable understanding of WCAG 2.0 AA compliance and WAI-ARIA.
• Passion for football is a plus but not required - your technical expertise comes first.

This is a full-time role based in London. Our office is in Soho and we believe in the benefits of working together, so ideally you'd be able to join us in the office at least 3 days a week.
