Canopy Simulations leverages its foundation in writing cutting-edge simulations for Formula One to offer expertise in motorsport, autonomous vehicles, automotive, and America's Cup sailing. Our clients include top-tier teams from F1, F2, FE, WEC, and IndyCar. Canopy is a UK-registered, natively remote business, part of the Michelin Group since April 2023.

About you:

You will gain an understanding of how the best simulation tools work and what distinguishes leading cars in global motorsports.

You should have an exceptional understanding of the mathematical and physical principles underlying vehicle performance and the skills to translate these into our simulation software.

A good degree in engineering is required.

Applicants must have:

• Experience in race car vehicle dynamics, vehicle science, vehicle performance, or vehicle modelling
• Experience in numerical simulation, optimisation, control of nonlinear systems, or related fields
• Prior coding experience in an object-oriented language; C++ is a plus
• Demonstrable ability in physical modelling, understanding the maths and physics of physical systems
• A desire to work remotely, with strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with our remote engineering team

Duties include:

• Developing our vehicle model and simulation tool in response to client requirements and motorsport regulations
• Evaluating performance of features against real-world expectations to identify bugs and improve results
• Interacting with clients to translate feedback into specifications and implementing features for optimal client value
• Contributing to in-house testing, development, and visualisation tools for automated validation
