A leading healthcare organization in Oxford is seeking enthusiastic and experienced critical care nurses to join their dynamic CTCCU team. The position involves providing intensive nursing care to patients after cardiac and thoracic surgeries, along with managing acute cardiac conditions. Candidates must have relevant nursing qualifications and skills in high dependency nursing. The role offers a comprehensive development package and is ideal for those interested in advancing their critical care skills in a supportive environment.
CTCCU are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced critical care nurses to join our dynamic team. CTCCU is a 21 bedded unit providing level two and three care to patients following cardiac, major aortic and thoracic surgery, and to those with acute cardiac medical conditions. CTCCU is a challenging, exciting and supportive environment which will facilitate the ongoing advancement of your specialist critical care skills. There are opportunities to develop skills in invasive and non‑invasive modes of ventilation and weaning, the use of ventricular assist devices, cardiac output monitoring and haemofiltration. Additionally, acute arrhythmia management, advanced ECG interpretation, management of IABP therapy and active participation in the PPCI service will be experiences when nursing the cardiac medical patients on the unit.
Candidates require relevant demonstrable skills in high dependency/intensive care nursing with a post‑registration qualification in cardio‑respiratory nursing; critical care nursing or similar equivalent. Evidence of involvement in projects and the delivery of excellent nursing care through team working are essential as is a commitment to the advancement of critical care nursing. The candidate will need to demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm and leadership skills whilst also delivering a patient‑centred approach to care within a highly technical environment. The posts offered will involve bedside nursing care and unit co‑ordination.
All successful candidates will have a supernumerary period with support from a mentor and a comprehensive competency‑based development package. The post offers the scope for professional and personal development and ongoing education within the field of both cardiac and thoracic nursing.
