Senior Clinical Fellow – Breast Surgery

A vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. We have an exciting opportunity to appoint to a Senior Clinical Fellow in Breast Surgery within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Derby Hospital between February - July 2026.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General Surgery not including Foundation years.
  • Possession of the MRCS is essential.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and hold full GMC Registration at the time of application.
  • Candidates can be between ST3 - ST5 and will be involved in ward rounds, theatre lists, day case lists and outpatient clinics, as well as providing support for the wider team.

Training & Experience

This post does not have a National Training Number but will offer a good training experience within Breast and General Surgery. There is opportunity to participate in the General Surgery Registrar On-call rota dependant on experience of the successful candidate. The appointees will work a 40 hour weekly programme with a mixed job plan. The provisional timetable consists of inpatient and day case elective theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, and daily ward rounds, as well as participating in the emergency registrar rota if appropriate.
