Job summary
A healthcare institution in Preston is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow to join their acute medical workforce. This 12-month position involves conducting clinical reviews, supporting junior medical staff, and participating in patient care in a friendly and collaborative environment. The role offers excellent training opportunities and flexible working hours. Ideal for those preparing for specialist training posts.
Qualifications
- Experience in acute medical settings.
- Ability to perform basic medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical reviews of Day 2/3 Medicine patients.
- Make clinical decisions about patient discharges.
- Ensure completion of ward jobs and patient rounds.
The senior clinical fellow will be an integral part of the acute medical workforce involved in the clinical reviews of Day 2 and Day 3 patients.
The post is for 12 months and will provide excellent training in the management of the common and important presentation normally seen in acute medical setting and give insight into the management of acute ill patients.
The post would be an excellent preparation for specialist training post. It will be a 9am-5pm job with one long day (4 hours) per week. The work pattern is flexible.
- Clinical reviews of Day 2/3 Medicine referred patients.
- Clinical decision making around discharges.
- Ensuring ward jobs are carried out as planned on the post take ward rounds by consultants.
- Clinical review of sick patients and stabilise and escalate as appropriate.
- Provide senior support to junior medical team members
- Perform basic medical procedures as required.
