Main duties of the jobWe are an enthusiastic and innovative team who value the input and contribution of all our team members and strive to offer the best service possible to our service users. The team has been active in launching new therapeutic initiatives such as, compassion focused therapy groups, and acceptance and commitment therapy programmes. We aim to offer a wide range of psychological therapies including CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT, CAT, Integrative, Schema focused, Mindfulness, and Solution focused ways of working, in both group and individual contexts.
We are looking for a compassionate, thoughtful and enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to join our friendly, close-knit team. We would welcome a psychologist who can demonstrate an interest in working with service users with severe and enduring mental health difficulties and a commitment to improving their wellbeing through direct clinical interventions and, or contributions to psychologically-informed care plans. We would particularly welcome someone with an interest in building the provision of evidence-based practice in an area of their interest (psychosis, trauma, mood disorders, or personality disorders).

Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesCLINICAL
• To provide a psychology service to the designated team including assessment and therapy both for individuals and groups as appropriate.
• To provide a specialist consultancy service to multidisciplinary teams and other agencies providing care for the client group.
• To participate in generic team duties as agreed by the operational manager and Psychology Lead as appropriate, to the needs of the service.
• To participate in clinical and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the Psychology Service.
• To maintain accurate records and to monitor clinical workload using agreed systems.
• To ensure timely recording of all data required by the Trust.
• To support the full implementation of CPA acting as care co-ordinator as appropriate to the needs of the service.
PROFESSIONAL
• To adhere to the HCPC policies and procedures.
• To fully observe the BPS (1996) Code of Conduct and the DCP Guidelines for the Professional Practice of Clinical Psychology (1995).
• To be aware of, adhere to, and where appropriate, contribute to the formulation and review of Trust, Area and Clinical Psychology Service policies and procedures.
• To participate in local psychology meetings and Trust wide meetings as appropriate.
• To maintain and develop high standards of psychology practice by engaging in continuing professional development and co-operative working/networking with counselling and clinical psychologist colleagues.
• To participate in an annual performance appraisal.
Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
Desirable criteria- Further training in evidence-based therapy
ExperienceEssential criteria- Working with severe and enduring mental health in adults
