Job Description

Shift Engineer (Mechanically Biased)

Location: Buckinghamshire (commutable from Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Leighton Buzzard, Luton, Bedford, Northampton)

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts - Panama Days & Nights (6-6)

Salary: £56,000

Benefits: 21 shifts holiday, private healthcare, pension, life assurance (x3), company sick pay

Our client is a leading food manufacturing company with sites across Europe. Due to growth, they are seeking a mechanically biased shift engineer to join their team.

• Carry out electrical & mechanical fault finding, PPMs, repairs of all site food production & packaging machinery
• Perform manual machining - milling, turning, grinding, use of lathes
• Work on hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, shafts, drives, sensors, chains
• PLC fault finding - Siemens & Allen Bradley
• Contribute to projects & continuous improvement initiatives

• Mechanically biased shift engineer
• Experience with manual milling & turning machines, lathes
• PLC electrical fault finding skills
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, ideally food industry
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, drives, gearboxes, bearings
• Completed apprenticeship - NVQ Level 3 or higher
• 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations beneficial
• Ability to interpret electrical & mechanical diagrams
• Team-oriented attitude, willing to assist in all areas
• Mechanical fabrication & welding skills beneficial
