We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled practitioner to join our Pupil Support Team at Elms School. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the school's vision and ethos.
Our pupils face significant challenges in managing their emotions and behaviour, requiring specialist support for their personal development. The successful candidate will be expected to listen to pupils and provide emotional support to facilitate their engagement in learning.
Essential qualifications include previous experience working with children or adults with challenging behaviours, emotional resilience, a good sense of humour, and an understanding of SEMH needs. Knowledge of Restorative Approaches and Team Teach is desirable.
Our approach involves de-escalation techniques to support pupils emotionally, and at times, positive handling may be necessary. Therefore, physical fitness and strength are important for this role.
A willingness to work beyond standard school hours when needed is essential.
Candidates should possess a minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
Elms School values professional development; all staff receive comprehensive induction and ongoing support to meet performance targets.
This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check, pre-employment medical clearance, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK. We reserve the right to close applications early if sufficient responses are received.
