Stores Controller
Job summary
A leading construction firm based in Wymondham is seeking a Stores Controller to oversee day-to-day operations in their transportation team. Responsibilities include managing the stores, coordinating with the factory team, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. The ideal candidate should have a forklift licence and a proactive attitude. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 45 hours per week on-site. Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Induct visitors, customers, and sub‑contractors to site.
- Operate site access and egress system, and weighbridge.
- Coordinate with Factory Supervisor for goods collections.
- Process material collections using the Business Central IT system.
- Load and unload curtain‑sider HGVs, couriers, and customer vehicles.
- Maintain and replenish stores to meet order requirements.

We're looking for a Stores Controller to join our Transportation team at our Wymondham, Norfolk site. In this role, you'll manage the day-to-day operations of the stores within the Kier Highways Solutions Wymondham plant.

Location: Wymondham, Norfolk - site-based, 5 days per week
Hours: Permanent, Full-time, 45 hours per week

As a Stores Controller, you'll work closely with the factory team to ensure sales orders are fulfilled and customers receive excellent service.
- Inducting visitors, customers, and sub‑contractors to site, ensuring compliance with PPE guidelines and site rules
- Operation of site access and egress system, and operation of weighbridge
- Coordinating with the Factory Supervisor to arrange bulk and packed goods collections promptly
- Processing material collections using the Business Central IT system
- Loading and unloading curtain‑sider HGVs, couriers, and customer vehicles
- Maintaining and replenishing stores to meet order requirements
This role of Stores Controller is perfect if you have:
- A forklift licence (training can be provided if needed)
- A methodical, proactive, and motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
