We are hiring a Quantum Algorithms Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in algorithms for gate-model quantum computers, quantum information theory, or related fields. Their work will contribute to developing quantum algorithms for near-term quantum computers, including topics like algorithm optimization, quantum codes, resource analysis, error mitigation, and hardware benchmarking. They will have opportunities to develop a broad research portfolio aligned with Phasecraft's interests.
- Undertake theoretical and/or applied research on near-term quantum computing algorithms and technologies
- Contribute to publications, presentations, patent applications, and similar outputs
- Collaborate with a small team of staff and PhD students
- Support the growth and success of Phasecraft through various activities
Essential criteria:
- Expertise in quantum information and/or computation theory
- PhD (or soon to receive one) in quantum information, quantum computation theory, theoretical computer science, physics, or related fields
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on research projects
- Strong publication record in relevant disciplines
- Flexibility to work across different aspects of quantum software and theory
- Willingness to undertake tasks supporting company growth
Desirable criteria:
- Interest in near-term quantum computing
- Experience implementing algorithms on quantum hardware or in classical emulation, or strong theoretical/mathematical research with application interest, or software development skills
- Enthusiasm for learning and research
- Excellent communication skills
